MAKSIMIR PARK
Maksimir is the biggest and oldest park in Zagreb. It holds a special significance for the citizens of Zagreb because of the spacious area for public recreation. Getting to Maksimir is easy, catch a tram number 11 at the Jelacic Square, get off on your 5th stop. Maksimir has area of 316 acres. Besides forests in Park Maksimir we can find meadows, lakes and streams, which are also important habitats for various plants and animals, thus contributing to its biodiversity. There are lovely paths you can follow, walking either by the lakes and meadows or through the woods.

BOTANICAL GARDENS
Just few steps away from Zagreb Central Train Station there is a beautifull park- Botanical Gardens. It spreads on about 4.7 hectares, and it has ten thousand plant species from the Croatian and around the world. The first plants were planted ihere n 1892. Gardens have ponds, artificial hills, bridges, and even some artificial caves.The largest part of the garden makes the park – arboretum. It was made in an English garden style, and the flower floor in the central and western part of the garden shaped in historical style, with lines that are strictly symmetrical.
