The picturesque St. Mark’s Church is the oldest church in Zagreb, and one of its symbols. Its distincive roof made of coloured roof tiles shows proudly 2 coats of arms: old Croatian and coat of arms of Zagreb. One of the greates Croatian sculptors Ivan Meštrović and his colleague Jozo Kljaković renovated this lovely church in 1930. Inside the church are three sculptures by Ivan Mestrovic. A pieta is to the left of the altar, a crucifix over the main altar, and the Madonna and Child on the right. The church is not open for public, but only during holy mass which is daily at 18:00 in the evening, Saturdays at 07:30 and at 10:30 Sundays. Not to be missed!
St. Mark’s Church Zagreb has its own music festival every spring.
